‘Violent disorder’ breaks out at non-league match as player appears to scrap with fans in mass brawl

Bilston Town FC have released a statement after videos of a brawl following a match on Saturday went viral across social media.

Footage appears to show supporters, players and coach staff involved in violent scenes during Bilston’s FA Vase meeting with Droylsden FC.

One video shows a player, number 15 for Bilston Town, seemignly fight with spectators as a woman tries to hold him back.

Supporters were then seen scuffling on the floor as other fans tried to diffuse the situation.

A second video then shows what appears to be a coach hitting a fan in the back of the head.

After being chased across the pitch, a Bilston Town player then tried to kick the coach, who then turned and knocked a fan to the ground.

The scenes marred Droylsden’s 2-0 win at the Queen Street Stadium as a Nelson Van brace left the Bloods just two games away from a Wembley final.

Bilston Town Statement

Bilston Town took to X to release a statement, insisting that the unsavoury scenes were not a ‘fair reflection’ of the game.

“We understand that there is a video or videos shared by people from the game today,” the statement read.

“We would like to state that this is not a fair reflection of the game or day as a whole.

“As a club we are in the process of investigating all footage from today’s game. We would like to thank the supporters of @Droylsden_FC for their cooperation.”

Droylsden, meanwhile, celebrated the victory and issued their ‘thanks’ for Bilston’s hospitality but made no mention of the scuffles.

“THANK YOU! Many thanks to @BilstonTownFC for their hospitality, and all the best for the rest of the season,” a post on X read.

“To all you Bloods who made the trip down, THANK YOU for your tremendous support, and safe journeys home! #UpTheBloods.”
