Packers QB Jordan Love stamps Micah Parsons’ Lukas Van Ness endorsement
The Green Bay Packers will be starting the 2026 season already behind the eight ball. Micah Parsons won’t be available to start the season after last year’s ACL injury. But one Packers defender has received plenty of hype early in the offseason and could help make up for Parsons’ absence.
Packers QB Jordan Love heaped praise on edge rusher Lukas Van Ness after a recent mandatory minicamp practice.
“Van Ness was flying around, man,” Love said after practice, per The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman. “I think the biggest thing with him is his get-off. He was getting off the rock today, and he’s got that speed that puts tackles in a bind. They gotta make sure they’re getting off at the same time as him. If not, he’s going to beat you around that corner. I’m excited about him. I’m excited for him and what’s going to come this season. He’s in a great spot. He puts the work in, and he’s a guy that he’s always making practice hard on us.”
The former first-round pick has had a quiet start to his NFL career. Van Ness has 84 total tackles as well as eight-and-a-half sacks, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery in 43 career games played. But several Packers players are hopeful he can play a big role in the early weeks of the season.
Parsons gave Van Ness a huge endorsement ahead of the 2026 season. He believes that Van Ness is a prime breakout candidate.
“I believe in him. Sometimes I think he looks into y’all, and that gets to him, but I think he can be as great as he wants to be,” Parsons said.
It will be fascinating to watch how Van Ness performs during training camp later this summer.
