76ers’ Joel Embiid sends ‘classy’ message to Boston fans after Game 7 win

Joel Embiid had a classy message to give to Boston fans after leading the Philadelphia 76ers to the series upset win over the Celtics on Saturday night.

Embiid completed the 12th year of his NBA career with the 76ers. This campaign marked his eighth appearance in the playoffs, fighting through injuries as he made his 2026 postseason debut in Game 4 against Boston.

Embiid helped Philadelphia fight back from a 3-1 series deficit as they got the matchup back to Boston for Game 7. Celtics fans constantly made chants toward Embiid, trying to throw him off his game as they viewed him as an archnemesis throughout the contest.

The 76ers star center didn’t lose rhythm as he embraced all the noise and took it in stride. In 39 minutes of action, he put together an incredible performance with 34 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and a block. He shot 12-of-26 from the field, including 1-of-4 from beyond the arc, and 9-of-11 from the free-throw line.

Finally getting his first series win over Boston after three previous attempts, Embiid took to social media to react to the achievement. He also made sure to point out Boston fans, thanking them for the ironic hospitality.

“Boston, please be classy my friends! I still love and respect you!!” Embiid said.
