First Candidate

First Candidate may well be underestimated given her win over Coolanna in a point to point over 3m in February of last year.

Not been seen to the same effect over hurdles than that mare who has gone two for two to already reach a rating of 119.

First Candidate has a 7lb allowance as a mare and faces her main rival the gelding Kiwi Rush who’s odds-on who’s also so far not impressed over hurdles.

Rodney

Pepe Le Moko was a little disappointing last time out but was nudged along a little too much behind Rodney, which could have explained the horse struggling to keep up at the finish.

Toothless and Rodney come into this on the back of wins with the latter hiked up 10lb so needs to really keep his impressive momentum going.

But the way he won last time out suggests there’s a stronger chance compared to Toothless.

He was eased down at Hereford on his first run over 2m5f so this 2m4f is an interesting one, especially at 5/2.
