Wayne Gretzky’s daughter engaged to former college football player

Wayne Gretzky has a wedding to attend soon go to as his youngest daughter recently got engaged.

The NHL icon’s daughter, Emma Gretzky, and her boyfriend, Stone Eby, shared the news that the former collegiate football star proposed. In their Instagram post shared on Wednesday, July 29, the couple is seen embracing with a ranch backdrop for their special moment.

“The easiest yes to a lifetime with you,” the couple captioned their engagement photos.

Eby wore jeans and a button-up short-sleeve green shirt, and Emma wore a floral sundress. The photos also had snapshots with the couple’s son, Walter Boone-Gretzky Eby, who also wore a cowboy hat along with dad for the photoshoot.

“Congratulations Love You All !” mom Janet Gretzky added.

“I’m crying!! no one deserves this more,” Emma’s sister, model Paulina Gretzky, commented. Paulina married PGA golfer Dustin Johnson in 2022 and shares sons: Tatum and River Jones.

Emma and Stone met at Southern Methodist University. and began dating in November 2022. They welcomed their son in August 2025.

Like her dad, Emma, also played sports as she was on the tennis team for SMU. Stone was also a student-athlete at SMU and was a tight end on the college’s football team.

Wayne shared how much he was proud about Emma playing tennis in college which she did for her first two years at SMU.

“If you enjoy it, and work hard and continue to progress, good things can happen,” he told the Ventura County Star in 2019. “For us, as parents our goal for Emma is to love [tennis], work hard and keep working hard at it, because it’s a huge commitment.”

Alongside Emma and Paulina, Wayne and his wife, Janet, also have three sons: Ty, Trevor, and Tristan. Wayne and Janet have been married for 38 years.
