Watch Bronny James make historic assist to LeBron James in Lakers-Warriors

With the season-ending injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves, almost every single player of the Los Angeles Lakers is expected to step up and fill the void, including Bronny James.

James has not seen plenty of action in his sophomore season, although he has been balling out for the South Bay Lakers in the G League. But as the regular season winds down and with the Lakers’ depleted roster, coach JJ Redick has started giving him more minutes.

Against the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, James made a memorable play as he passed the ball to LeBron James for the easy dunk in the first quarter. It was the first-ever son-to-father assist in NBA history.

The younger James returned the favor after the elder James made an assist to his son in their game against the Brooklyn Nets last month, recording the first-ever father-to-son dime in NBA history.

The two milestones may be trivial to many, especially since the assists were not fancy or spectacular, but for the father-and-son duo, they will be forever cherished.

The NBA might never see another father-and-son duo ever again, and fans should learn to appreciate the Jameses’ rare feat.

The 41-year-old James hurt his hand in the third quarter against the Warriors after blocking the layup of Pat Spencer. Fortunately, he did not injure it and was able to return to the contest.

Aside from Doncic and Reaves, the Lakers are also without Marcus Smart and Jaxson Hayes, who are nursing an ankle injury and a foot injury, respectively.

As of writing, the Lakers are up by double digits against the Warriors in the fourth quarter.
