[WATCH] BBL 2025-26: Mumbai-born Jerrssis Wadia strikes twice in first two balls against Melbourne Renegades

Jerrssis Wadia accounted for two wickets on the first two deliveries of Match 38 of 2025-26 Big Bash League, dismissing Melbourne Renegades' Tim Seifert and Jake Fraser-McGurk.

Seifert was dismissed on a slider that caught the outside edge of his bat. The rest of the work was carried out safely by wicketkeeper Alex Carey. Fraser-McGurk went for an aerial drive on the next delivery but the ball was safely pouched by Wadia above his head, leaving the Renegades two down with no runs on the board.

Wadia conceded only three runs in the first over and eight in his second to end up with figures of 2/11. The all-rounder was not required to contribute with the bat as Adelaide Strikers secured a convincing eight-wicket victory with 49 deliveries to spare. The Renegades were shot out for 99 in 16.5 overs, courtesy of a four-wicket haul picked up by Tabraiz Shamsi.

Other than Will Sutherland, no other player from the tourists could get past the 20-run mark. Sutherland's 28-ball 38 comprised two fours and three sixes. Chris Lynn (27* off 25) and Liam Scott (18* off 10) were the batters to get the Strikers across the line in the 12th over of the run-chase. Shamsi secured the Player of the Match award for his bowling effort.

The Strikers won their first match after losing three on the trot. On the other hand, this was Renegades' seventh defeat of the season. Both Strikers and Renegades had an underwhelming season, finishing sixth and seventh in the eight-team league.
