UCLA Bruins land 4-star CB after Georgia decommitment

Bob Chesney and the UCLA Bruins are building their future for the 2027 recruiting class, landing a talented prospect in cornerback Jerry Outhouse.

Outhouse announced his commitment to the Bruins on Friday, per On3 insider Hayes Fawcett. Hailing from Fort Worth, Texas, he originally committed to the Georgia Bulldogs in March before reversing course on April 29.

“I’M OFFICIALLY HOME 4’s UP🐻!!” Outhouse said to Fawcett.

Outhouse stands out as a four-star cornerback with a 90 score on 247Sports. He ranks 22nd among cornerbacks, 24th among players in the state of Texas, and 161st throughout the entire class. His composite score of 0.9541 puts him at 14th, 13th and 99th in those categories.

“Athletic DB who could play multiple roles in the secondary. Owns the frame of a modern corner at a verified 6 feet with plus wingspan. Boasts excellent verified combine testing numbers in speed, agility, and explosion metrics. Competitive field demeanor. Active in the screen game and willing to play forward vs. the run. Quite physical at the line of scrimmage in press situations. Projects as a potential high-major multi-year starter with physical tools and verified athleticism that suggest a ceiling beyond college,” 247Sports Scouting Analyst Gabe Brooks wrote.

What lies ahead for UCLA after landing Jerry Outhouse

It’s a solid pickup for Bob Chesney and the UCLA Bruins to get with Jerry Outhouse making his way to the program.

Outhouse earned a Texas District 3-6A first-team selection as a junior. He helped North Crowley to a 12-2 record and a 6A D-I state quarterfinal appearance. As a junior, he finished a breakout sophomore campaign at Fort Worth Brewer with 44 tackles, 3 TFL, 5 INTs, and 1 FR.

Chesney looks to bring UCLA back to prominence, having enjoyed an incredible two-year stint at James Madison. He led them to a 21-6 overall record, getting them to the College Football Playoff in 2025.

UCLA is coming off a brutal campaign last year in which they fired DeShaun Foster three games into the season. They went 3-9 overall, going 3-6 in their Big Ten matchups.
