There is another update on Tiger Woods.

Tuesday brought with it a statement from Woods himself, his first public comments since his rollover car crash last week, where he noted that he is stepping away to work on himself personally and professionally. Shortly after his own statement, the PGA Tour commented on Tiger’s status as well by issuing a word of support for him. The Masters also made an announcement in sharing that Tiger would not be a part of next week’s field.

On Wednesday the PGA of America had a turn. They offered their support to Tiger and officially declared that he informed them that he will not be serving as the United States Ryder Cup captain at Adare Manor in 2027.

The subject of who will captain the United States next summer has been a debate for a long time, but many assumed that Woods would be the person ultimately chosen. We now know that this will not be the case.

Time will tell what happens next.
