talkSPORT betting tips – Best Six Nations bets and expert advice for Week 2
Round one of the Six Nations produced wins for France, Italy and England, and the trio continues their quest for a potential Grand Slam on Saturday and Sunday.
There is work to do for Ireland, Scotland and Wales, all of whom are at home on the second weekend.
After a clean sweep for last week’s hosts, the 47/1 available on another home treble shows how unlikely a repeat is from the outset and the visitors are the focus for these Six Nations Round 2 tips.

Team v Team Tips
Improving Italy remain underrated in the market
Ireland’s opening defeat in Paris confirmed what everyone thought they knew – the Irish forwards don’t pack their previous punch, they can no longer play at their previous ferocity and it is still unclear who their best fly-half is.
Sam Prendergast wore number 10 against France and was unconvincing. However, he struggled because his forwards failed to gain parity and Prendergast looked decidedly better when joined in the back-line by positional rival Jack Crowley, who helped shift some of the playmaking pressure off his colleague’s young shoulders.
Crowley’s superior defence and game-management skills may see him come into the side against Italy, who are targeting a first-ever Six Nations win in Dublin after beating Scotland 18-15 in Rome.
The Azzurri were excellent last Saturday, doing their best work in the opening quarter before dialling in on defence and playing the percentages after the heavens opened over the Stadio Olimpico.
After an autumn that saw them beat Australia and push South Africa, confidence continues to rise around their camp.
A historic victory might not be possible, but Italy look undervalued in the market and are worth supporting on the handicap.
Evolving England ready to end Murrayfield malaise
England have won only once at Murrayfield since 2016, a 13-6 victory played in atrocious conditions in 2020.
However, after losing the Calcutta Cup fixture four years in a row, they edged to a one-point victory at Twickenham last February.
That was win number two on their current streak of 12, most recently walloping Wales 48-7 last February.
Not for the first time, 2026 looked like it could be Scotland’s year, with both England and France scheduled to visit Edinburgh, but they blew it against Italy.
The pressure is on Gregor Townsend to produce a result on Saturday, but it is unlikely to be unlucky 13 for England, who have evolved since beating the Scots a year ago and only look to be getting better.
The Red Rose’s 2/7 in the match market appears a bit tight, but they are good enough to win by more than a converted score.
Fantastic France seem certain to add to Wales’ woes
Finally, to Cardiff, where, after dominating Ireland on a wet opening night in Paris, the French will have the luxury of playing under the roof when they take on Wales.
That should only help them outmanoeuvre their out-of-sorts hosts, who were awful at times in their 41-point defeat at Twickenham.
France’s giant pack can bully their Welsh counterparts, giving half-backs Antoine Dupont and Matthieu Jalibert an armchair ride in attack.
Wings Theo Attissogbe and Louis Bielle-Biarrey will have noticed that fellow flyers Henry Arundell, who got a hat-trick, and Tom Roebuck both touched down for the English.
Both scored two tries in last year’s 43-0 win for France over Wales and after Bielle-Biarrey grabbed another brace against Ireland, Attissogbe concluded the try scoring late on, making those two worth considering for another try scoring double if selected.
Wales received four yellow cards at Twickenham and repeatedly made errors.
They’ll hope that things can only get better but having been blown away by the French last season, it is difficult to expect anything other than another high-scoring win for Fabien Galthie’s visitors.
