India defeated Namibia by 93 runs to move to the top of Group A in the T20 World Cup 2026. The Men in Blue registered the comprehensive victory at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday, February 12.

Namibia won the toss and opted to field first on a belter of a track. Sanju Samson, who replaced Abhishek Sharma, smashed 22 off eight balls before getting dismissed in the second over. Fellow opener Ishan Kishan took the Namibia bowlers to the cleaners, slamming 61 off just 24 balls.

Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav were dismissed for 25 and 21 as the Namibia spinners pulled things back after a blistering start from India inside the powerplay. From 104/1 in the seventh over, India slumped to 124/4 inside the 12th.

Hardik Pandya and Shivam Dube joined forces to amass an 81-run partnership off 39 balls for the fifth wicket. However, once Hardik was dismissed for 52 off 28 deliveries, Namibia kept chipping away at the wickets column and gave away just 25 runs in the last four overs.

The hosts finished on 209/9 in their 20 overs. Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with figures of 4/20 in his four-over spell.

In reply, Namibia got off to a decent start as the openers put on a 33-run partnership inside four overs. Arshdeep Singh gave India their first breakthrough as he dismissed Jan Frylinck. Louren Steenkamp and Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton stitched a handy partnership to take Namibia to 67 in seven overs.

However, India fought back through the middle overs, with Varun Chakaravarthy being the wrecker-in-chief. The mystery spinner bowled just two overs and bagged three wickets. From 67/1, Namibia were bowled out for 116. Hardik and Axar Patel bagged two wickets apiece, while Arshdeep, Dube, and Jasprit Bumrah had one scalp each to show for their efforts.
