Southampon achieve unwanted club first against arch-rivals Portsmouth as fan faces hefty ban
Portsmouth and Southampton played out a pulsating draw in Sunday’s south coast derby.
They shared the spoils as the Championship clash ended 1-1 with Leo Scienza’s second half strike cancelled out by Ebou Adams.

It also means that Southampton are now winless against Pompey in their last five league games.
That is the first time in their history that this has happened for the Saints.
Southampton have not beaten their rivals in a league game since November 2004.
The last four league matches have ended in draws, with Portsmouth the last team to claim victory.
The south coast derby earlier in the season was a tame encounter, but Sunday’s clash at Fratton Park was anything but.
Speaking on talkSPORT from Fratton Park, Scott Minto said: “I was really looking forward to this game earlier in the season and it was very drab. There’s something about Fratton Park, it’s so tight. The atmosphere was nothing short of phenomenal.
“Southampton fans were superb, it matched what we saw. We saw passion and commitment. The referee officiated it perfectly.
“We saw a really good game of football.”
Fan invasion
One moment that did slightly tarnish the game was when a Portsmouth fan invaded the pitch to goad travelling Saints supporters.
They ran across the pitch to the away section, making crude gestures.
Stewards eventually caught him and led him away.
He can likely expect a hefty ban from Fratton Park for the incident, which was quickly posted on social media.
That draw has lifted Portsmouth out of the relegation zone.
They move up to 21st in the table with Blackburn now dropping into the bottom three.
Southampton remain 15th in the table with that point, but their form has been poor of late.
They have only taken six points from their last six games.
