Pistons’ JB Bickerstaff drops NSFW Tobias Harris defense after monster Game 7

As Detroit Pistons star Tobias Harris had a career game in the Game 7 win against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, 116-94, head coach Tobias Harris would have a bold declaration on the forward. When the Pistons forced a Game 7 against the Magic, the team needed key outings from their players, with Harris’ being a surprising one for some people, but definitely not for Bickerstaff.

In the win, Harris recorded 30 points on 11 of 18 shooting from the field, five of seven from beyond the arc, to go along with nine rebounds and two assists. There’s no denying that Harris has received criticism in the past with his play and contract, leading to Bickerstaff using the time to call out the doubters.

“Nobody can say sh*t to me about Tobias Harris,” Bickerstaff said, via NBA Courtside on X, formerly Twitter. “He is dependable, reliable, you know, prepared for the moment. He’s a leader, he’s a great teammate, he’s a great human being, you know, he’s a high-level competitor. Lke to show up tonight and do what he did when it was on the line. It’s just, it’s exceptional. And I can come up with more adjectives if you want, but I think you get my drift.”

For Harris, it started in the first half as he made an impact right away, scoring 19 points on shooting seven of 11 from the field, including two of four from three-point range. The 33-year-old veteran was crucial in helping Detroit keep its lead throughout the game against Orlando in closing out the series and moving on to the second round of the NBA Playoffs.

At any rate, Harris and the rest of Detroit await their next opponent after coming back down from a 3-1 series deficit in what was a tough series against the Magic. They’ll either face the Cleveland Cavaliers or the Toronto Raptors as they have a Game 7 of their own on Sunday.
