Lions send 3-word message after Pistons’ series comeback vs. Magic

The Detroit Pistons completed a spectacular comeback Sunday against the Orlando Magic, winning the seventh game of their opening round playoff series.

It was anything but an easy assignment for the top-seeded Pistons. While they had been the dominant team in the Eastern Conference throughout the NBA regular season, they fell into a deep chasm against the eighth-seeded Magic. They were down 3 games to 1 to their upset-minded opponents and it seemed that the Pistons would do nothing in the playoffs but embarrass themselves.

However, Detroit roared back, winning the last three games of the series and they eliminated the Magic. Their comeback victory was appreciated by the other athletes and teams in the city. The NFL’s Detroit Lions passed along their congratulations with a supportive message of “Pistons in 7“on X.

Detroit clinched the series with a 116-94 victory at home over the Magic. Superstar Cade Cunningham was razor sharp in the victory for head coach J.B. Bickerstaff as he contributed a team-high 32 points. Running mate Tobias Harris made sure Cunningham did not have to do all the work himself as he contributed 30 points. Both Cunningham and Harris demonstrated the ability to hit 3-point shots and that allowed the Pistons to keep the Magic a distance away throughout the game.

The Pistons were able to keep the majority of the Magic players from causing any problems with the exception of Paolo Banchero. He tried to keep the game close by scoring a game-high 38 points, making 14 of 25 shots from the field, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc.
