Leeds United vs Brighton & Hove Albion predictions

Brighton & Hove Albion are ending the season strongly, raising hopes that they will be back in Europe next term.

But which competition? With just two games of the Premier League season remaining, it could be one of three – or none at all.

Brighton’s fate will be determined not only by how they get on against Leeds United and Manchester United, but also by events outside their control.

One of those, of course, is the results of the teams around them in the table, namely Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford and Chelsea.

Another is the outcome of the final of two different tournaments, the FA Cup and the Europa League.

A quick summary. At the moment, the top five qualify for the Champions League, sixth for the Europa League and seventh for the Conference League.

If Manchester City win the FA Cup this weekend, seventh will go to the Europa League and eighth to the Conference League.

Meanwhile, if Aston Villa finish fifth and win the Europa League, the sixth-place finisher will advance to the Champions League rather than the Europa League.

There are permutations aplenty, but regardless of what happens elsewhere, Brighton need to take care of their own business first and foremost. That starts with this weekend’s trip to Elland Road.

The Seagulls head north in fine form. Only Manchester City and Arsenal have collected more points than Fabian Hurzeler’s charges over the last eight rounds of Premier League fixtures.

Leeds United are safe from relegation and have shown themselves to be difficult opponents over the last few months. Brighton are favourites, but they should not take anything for granted.

Leeds United vs Brighton & Hove Albion betting tips

Leeds United welcome Brighton & Hove Albion to Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

Brighton must keep pushing

Leeds United will be in celebratory mood on Sunday as the Elland Road faithful looks forward to another season of Premier League football.

West Ham United’s 1-0 loss to Arsenal last weekend confirmed safety for Daniel Farke’s side, who followed up that welcome piece of news with a spirited showing in a 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night.

Leeds have lost only four of their last 23 matches in the Premier League, so they are a tough nut to crack.

But their last three defeats have all come at home and Brighton have the bit between their teeth right now.

Brighton to finish strong

Brighton were quick out of the blocks last time out, storming into a 2-0 lead against Wolverhampton Wanderers with just five minutes on the clock.

It was not the usual pattern for Brighton, who tend to be stronger after the break than before it.

Indeed, the Seagulls have the second-best second-half record in the Premier League this term, behind only Arsenal.

Leeds United have nothing meaningful left to play for, so Brighton can put them under pressure towards the end of this match.

Brighton man in fine form

More than most Premier League clubs, Brighton & Hove Albion like to move players around.

Even by the Seagulls’ standards, Jack Hinshelwood has experienced a fair few positions this season.

The academy graduate has played at right-back, as a holding midfielder and most recently as an attacking midfielder.

He looks well suited to his current role, scoring in each of his last three outings for Hurzeler’s men. The 21-year-old can find the back of the net again this weekend.
