Kawhi Leonard on injury report vs. Warriors with No. 9 seed looking likely
The LA Clippers host the Golden State Warriors on Sunday, and Kawhi Leonard appeared on the team’s injury report. Leonard is listed as questionable in a game that might not mean too much with the Clippers likely locked in to the No. 9 seed in the Western Conference standings. Here’s everything we know about Kawhi Leonard’s injury and his status for the Clippers’ game against the Warriors
Kawhi Leonard’s injury status vs. Warriors
With Kawhi Leonard being listed on the injury report as questionable, his status likely depends on what the Clippers’ present thinking is. There is still an outside chance they can move up and secure the No. 8 seed. That would require a win against the Warriors, and a Portland Trail Blazers loss to the Sacramento Kings.
If the Clippers feel the No. 8 seed is attainable and preferable, Leonard likely plays. If they are content with the ninth seed and hosting an opening round play-in game, something they wouldn’t do with the No. 8 seed, the best option might be to rest Leonard and gear up for the postseason.
Leonard has appeared in 65 games this season at a little over 32 minutes per game. He’s been averaging 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals with splits of 50.5 percent shooting from the field, 38.7 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 89.2 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
