Ian Rapoport loves ‘great deal’ for Saints’ Cam Jordan
The Saints are trying to build towards a greater future under head coach Kellen Moore. But when it came to retaining a franchise great, the Saints couldn’t resist.
New Orleans re-signed pass rusher Cam Jordan to a one-year deal, via Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Now that his contract numbers have been revealed, the analyst loves Jordan’s new deal even more.
“The Saints are giving Cam Jordan a 1-year deal with a max value of $11M,” Rapoport wrote. “The base value is $7.5M ($6.15M signing bonus + $1.35M base) with $3.5M in sack incentives. A great deal.”
Jordan originally came to the Saints as a first-round draft pick back in 2011. He has gone on to appear in 243 games for the franchise, putting up 763 tackles, 248 quarterback hits and 132 sacks. The pass rusher has been a Pro-Bowler twice and was an All-Pro in 2017.
While Jordan will now be entering his age-37 season, he has shown no signs of slowing down. The Saints legend has appeared in all 17 games the last three seasons. Furthermore, during the 2025 campaign, Jordan put up 47 tackles, 15 quarterback hits and 10.5. He led New Orleans in sacks and tied for the team-high in quarterback hits.
The Saints are coming off of a 2025 campaign that saw them rank ninth in total defense, allowing 299.8 yards per game. Their 45 sacks tied for sixth-highest in the league. And now Jordan will be back to try and give New Orleans another spark off the edge.
Despite that defensive prowess, the Saints haven’t made the playoffs since 2020. Jordan came back to get after the quarterback. But he will also be looking to help New Orleans reach new heights.
