South Africa veterans Quinton de Kock and David Miller have voiced their frustration at the International Cricket Council (ICC) over travel arrangements following their teams’ elimination from the T20 World Cup 2026. The duo criticised the governing body and alleged them for prioritising England’s departure from India while South Africa and the West Indies still staying back in Kolkata.

The international airspace restrictions caused by escalating tensions in the Middle East have disrupted travel plans for several teams. As a result, both the South Africa and West Indies have been unable to leave India despite their campaigns ending earlier than England’s.

West Indies were knocked out of the tournament during the Super 8 stage on March 1, while South Africa’s journey ended after their semi-final defeat against New Zealand on March 4. Meanwhile, England, who were eliminated on March 5, reportedly departed India on Saturday evening.

De Kock took to social media to express his dissatisfaction with the situation. He questioned why England were allowed to leave earlier despite exiting the tournament later.

“Funny @icc, we have heard nothing! Meanwhile, England are leaving before us somehow? @westindies and @proteasmencsa are just in the dark! Strange how different teams have more pull than others,” De Kock wrote.

His teammate Miller echoed similar sentiments, also raising concerns about the apparent disparity in travel arrangements. The experienced middle-order batter commented on a social media post, highlighting that England had been granted immediate travel despite being eliminated after both South Africa and the West Indies.

“Funny that England gets eliminated after WI & SA and gets on a charter back home tonight, while WI & SA still wait for answers in Kolkata,” Miller wrote.

While the ICC is believed to be working on travel arrangements for South Africa and the West Indies, both teams were still awaiting confirmation regarding their departure schedule. The two sides could travel together from Kolkata on Sunday, March 8.
