Ex-boxing world champion Paulie Malignaggi, 44, brutally KO’d in bare-knuckle title fight defeat
Paulie Malignaggi fell to a brutal fate in his BKB title clash.
The 44-year-old former world champion was in action as he challenged for the super-welterweight world title against Rolando Dy.

It was a big opportunity in Manchester for the American to secure further silverware in another sport.
He took on 15-13 MMA fighter Dy, who had previously had a stint with UFC.
But it ended in a real disaster for the ‘Magic Man’ who looked far from his best years.
Dy knocks out Malignaggi
Malignaggi was looking to continue the positive start to his career, despite going ‘blind in one eye’ after his brutal clash with Tyler Goodjohn.
But he didn’t have the same success, and found himself on the back foot early on.
In the second round, Malignaggi was tagged with a booming right hand, which sent him tumbling to the canvas.
It was a real thumping blow, but the veteran impressively climbed back to his feet.
However, it wasn’t long before he was taking further punishment and Dy let out another barrage.
Malignaggi was crashed into the ropes and he couldn’t return to his feet with the same stability as before.
The referee waved off the contest, with the boxing icon missing out on gold.
Fans react – beg Malignaggi to retire
Fans of the sport were saddened by Malignaggi’s demise, and now want to see him to turn his back on combat sports.
One said: “Sad to see he still feels he needs to do this.
Another wrote: “Please just retire Paulie, you don’t need to do this.”
A fan added: “It’s tough to see Paulie like this man.”
A final fan concluded: “Please don’t carry on now, it’s time, he won’t recover from that.”
