Dwyane Wade puts in perspective how crazy Bam Adebayo’s 83-point game is

Even the world’s greatest clairvoyant with the biggest crystal ball could not have predicted that Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo would record the second-highest scoring game in NBA history after dropping 83 points against the Washington Wizards.

While Adebayo can definitely score, he has never been known to be an offensive juggernaut. Before going berserk against the Wizards last month, his previous career-high was 41 points. He has never averaged more than 20 points in a season, including at Kentucky.

There were fiery debates about Adebayo’s 83-point special. Some celebrated it, while some belittled it, arguing that he attempted 43 shots and 43 free throws in a largely meaningless game.

Heat legend Dwyane Wade, however, is having none of the slander. During his guesting on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Wade put Adebayo’s historic achievement in a different perspective.

“I tried to do that on the video game the other day, I fell short. I had 79. I can’t do it in a video game. I cannot go to Lifetime Fitness right now and do it. That’s an incredible feat,” said the three-time champion.

“The cardiovascular (activity) that it takes, the endurance that it takes to score 83 points is unbelievable.”

Adebayo only rested for six minutes in their win over the Wizards, 150-129. He also logged nine rebounds, three assists, two steals, and two blocks.

Wade, whose career-best was 55 points, has witnessed the growth of Adebayo over the years. They were teammates in South Beach for two years, and they have kept a tight bond.

Aside from Wade, NBA legend Michael Jordan also praised Adebayo for his 83-point performance.
