Derek Chisora shock title shot teased as he faces off in ring with new world champion
Derek Chisora has faced off with new WBA world champion Murat Gassiev sparking interest in a potential clash.
Chisora was ringside in Russia as recently upgraded WBA heavyweight world champion Gassiev made a first defence of his title.

He gained the belt after Oleksandr Usyk vacated the title, and he defended it against late replacement Peter Kadiru after Tony Yoka pulled out with injury.
Gassiev was in the driving seat from the first bell and looked highly motivated to retain his new status as a divisional king.
‘Iron’ was wearing down his helpless opponent and the breakthrough moment came in round six.
He pushed his rival back into the corner before unloading a relentless barrage, that saw a member of Kadiru’s team throw in the towel.
It was a big win but it was the events that unfolded afterwards that caught the eye.
Gassiev and Chisora face off
British heavyweight Chisora was ringside and managed to clamber into the ring as part of the IBA event.
But incredibly the British veteran, who recently lost to Deontay Wilder, faced off with Gassiev as if announcing a potential fight.
Chisora is not currently ranked in the top 15 of the WBA rankings and it is unclear if he’d entertain the clash.
But given his intentions when climbing over the ropes, a potential bout could be on the cards.
Gassiev has since opened the door to the clash, remarking after the fight: “If we can’t unify the belts in the near future, why not?
“Unification fights are always the priority in professional boxing. The champions have the belts, and that’s what every boxer is chasing.”
“Chisora and I have a good relationship. We’re friends. He’s a big name in boxing, and that fight would generate a lot of excitement. I’m sure it would be a very entertaining fight.”
Chisora himself has teased retirement on several occasions, given he is now 42-years-old and has been in some real toe-to-toe wars.
But he has suggested he would come out of retirement to try and avenge his defeat to Wilder earlier this year.
However, the ‘Bronze Bomber’ is expected to instead take on Oleksandr Usyk with the pair in talks over a lucrative clash with Zuffa Boxing.

Given Gassiev holds a title, it would be a fitting final hoorah for Chisora if he is able to challenge for a world crown one last time.
The champion would be a big favourite to win but the popular Finchley native would likely try to once again roll back the years.
