David Beckham released heartbreaking statement after Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham was released by Arsenal
Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham broke the internet on Monday with a bombshell statement about the Beckham family feud.
The 26-year-old launched explosive accusations against parents David and Victoria, revealing he had no intention of reconciling with them.

His deeply-shocking statement included claims that his mother and father have been trying to control him for most of his life in order to protect ‘Brand Beckham’.
It contained specific examples relating to his relationship with wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham, most notably when Brooklyn accuses Victoria of deliberately sabotaging his wedding on multiple occasions.
Closing off, Brooklyn said: “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life.
“I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”
Brooklyn’s football history
Before the feud, Brooklyn previously revealed that his anxiety had roots in his failed career as a footballer.
The eldest Beckham son had a nomadic youth career in order to follow his father’s various transfers, spending time in the academy systems at LA Galaxy and Paris Saint-Germain.
In 2013, Brooklyn either trained or had trials with numerous high-profile English youth teams, including Chelsea, Manchester United, Fulham and QPR.
His most significant academy experience came with Arsenal – who he joined as a 15-year-old in 2014.
Like his father, Brooklyn played as a right-midfielder and even earned his way into the club’s Under-18 team in 2015.
However, shortly afterwards, the Gunners decided not to offer him a scholarship.

While coaches rated his talent, Brooklyn’s development was said to be behind the other kids, likely as a result of his later arrival in English football’s youth system.
Brooklyn decides to quit
After being released by Arsenal, Brooklyn hung up his boots for good.
David delivered a heartbreaking interview on American TV channel ABC, in which he described the pain of realising his son was never truly in love with the game.
“One of my boys turned around to me the other day and said, ‘Daddy, I’m not sure I want to play football all the time,'” he revealed.
“It broke my heart a little bit. He said, ‘Every time I step on to the field, I know people are saying, ‘This is David Beckham‘s son’, and if I am not as good as you, then it is not good enough.'”
The ex-England captain added: “I said, ‘Okay, stop right there… You play because you want to play’. I don’t want them [my children] to have that pressure.

“I want them to be happy. As long as they’re happy, that’s all I care about.”
Speaking years later, Brooklyn admitted that he was deeply affected by the constant weight of expectation resulting from his father’s legendary career.
“My dad wasn’t sad, because he was like, ‘I just want you to be happy’,” Brooklyn explained in 2022.
“But of course, I was sad. It was my whole life since I was literally two.”
His younger brothers, Cruz and Romeo, both joined the Arsenal academy at a similar time.
Romeo also quit football after being released by the Gunners, pursuing a tennis career for five years, before making a brief return to football in 2020 and then hanging up his boots for good.

Cruz was considered the most gifted and he was offered the opportunity to stay on with Arsenal.
However, the youngster ultimately opted for a career in music instead.
What happened next?
Brooklyn first turned to professional photography, publishing a book titled ‘What I See’ in 2017 and interning for the photographer Rankin.
Like his dad, the young Englishman also appeared on the covers of various high-fashion magazines as a model.
More recently, he has zoned-in on cooking, launching a social media series called ‘Cookin’ with Brooklyn’, along with his own line of hot sauces under the brand Cloud23.
With Brooklyn now striving for greater financial independence from his parents, it is understood his various career ventures have built him a personal net worth of around £7.4million.

His wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham is believed to be worth closer to £40m as a result of her career in film and television.
Her father, meanwhile, is billionaire businessman Nelson Peltz, founder of the Trian Fund Management, and thought to be worth up to £1.34billion.
