Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s younger brother Aashirwad smashes stunning century in Bihar practice match
The Sooryavanshi family continues to make headlines in cricketing circles, but this time, it is not teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi grabbing the spotlight. His younger brother, Aashirwad Sooryavanshi, has caught the attention of fans with a brilliant century in a local practice match in Bihar.
Representing Cricket Academy Tajpur in Samastipur, Aashirwad produced an impressive batting display, scoring 103 runs off just 87 deliveries. His innings featured 20 boundaries and a six, while maintaining a strike rate of 118.39. The young batter's knock has generated excitement among local cricket followers, with many drawing comparisons to his elder brother's rapid rise.
Vaibhav was quick to acknowledge the achievement and took to social media to congratulate Aashirwad on his century.
“Congratulations Ashirwad (Heart emojis),” he wrote.
The innings comes at a time when the Sooryavanshi family is already enjoying a memorable phase following Vaibhav's remarkable success over the past few months.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's stock has risen dramatically after a sensational IPL 2026 campaign. The youngster finished as the tournament's leading run-scorer, amassing 776 runs in 16 matches and winning the Orange Cap, while also breaking countless other major IPL records. His outstanding performances were rewarded with a maiden call-up to the Indian senior team on June 6, making him the youngest player ever to get a senior men’s team call-up in Indian cricket history.
The announcement of Vaibhav's inclusion in the Indian squad triggered jubilant celebrations in his native village of Tajpur in Bihar's Samastipur district. Vaibhav's father, Sanjeev Sooryavanshi, expressed immense pride in his son's accomplishment.
"We were at home and were waiting for something good to happen. We were very happy when the announcement was made,” he was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
"Our entire family, people in the society and village came to our home to congratulate us. Everyone distributed sweets and ladoos, while crackers were also burst. We are very, very happy. Vaibhav has worked very hard since childhood for this - his aim to play for the country. Today, he has got the reward of his hard work and will get the saubhagya (good fortune) to play for his country. We are very, very happy for him," he continued.
While Vaibhav prepares to begin his international journey, Aashirwad's century has offered another glimpse of the cricketing talent emerging from the Sooryavanshi household.
