Christian Horner makes Coventry City prediction after watching ‘inspirational’ Frank Lampard
Christian Horner has told talkSPORT that he has been kept busy by watching Coventry City’s surge towards the Championship title.
The ex-Formula 1 team principal has been out of work since being sacked by Red Bull two days after the 2025 British Grand Prix.

Horner, who is married to Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell, has been strongly linked with a return to F1 after he was axed last July.
In the meantime, the 52-year-old has been watching Frank Lampard guide his beloved Coventry back to the Premier League.
“I’ve been down to the MotoGP, having a look at the bikes,” Horner explained to talkSPORT’s Jon Jackson at the Monaco E-Prix on his time off.
“Coventry City made the Premiership, so that kept me busy watching those guys. And, yeah, for the first time in 30 years, I’ve had a little bit of time out, mainly with my family, so it’s been good.”
Horner backs Coventry to stay up next season under Lampard
Horner has been vindicated in his public support of Lampard, having talked up his appointment on White & Jordan only a month after his appointment in late 2024.
Asked whether Coventry will avoid relegation next season, the six-time F1 World Constructors’ Championship title winner replied: “Yeah, undoubtedly.”
On Lampard specifically, Horner continued: “I think he’s done a super job. I’m a big fan of Frank’s.
“I think he’s done a great job. I mean, seeing him pull that team together this year has been very inspirational.”
Horner may soon be following Lampard back into management – but in the MotoGP paddock after enjoying a stint watching Formula E.

Horner here to learn more about Formula E
“I’m enjoying a bit of time out, and it’s really nice to be at a race where you have absolutely zero pressure,” Horner added to talkSPORT.
“So, usually standing on this grid, you would be worried about the next two hours, but for me, I’m just here to learn a little bit more about Formula E.
“I came as a guest with the Liberty [Media] guys, and it’s great to see how this championship is doing.
He continued: “It’s my first ever Formula E race, so seeing that Gen 4 car, I mean, that’s going to be a big step for these guys.
“I think it looks quite a beast, so I think it’s going to be a big step for them.”

F1 owners Liberty Media completed an 86 per cent takeover of MotoGP in 2024 in a deal valued at £3.2billion ($4.2bn).
Lewis Hamilton attempted to buy a team, with Drive to Survive favourite Guenther Steiner also taking over as CEO of Tech3.
Horner, meanwhile, who was at a MotoGP race last month, has also been named among the interested parties in buying a stake in Alpine.
