Bucks’ Giannis Antetokounmpo share moment with Alperen Sengun at EuroLeague

Yes, the 2026 NBA postseason drama continues thousands of miles away. However, two of basketball’s most recognizable international stars recently shared a notable moment courtside in Athens, Greece. Milwauekee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and Houston Rockets big man Alperen Sengun were both present at the 2026 EuroLeague Final this past weekend. They watched as Olympiacos BC defeated Real Madrid Baloncesto, 92-85, inside the Telekom Center in Athens.

Beyond the championship atmosphere and deafening crowd noise, though, NBA fans quickly focused on a halftime interaction between the two stars. According to footage circulating online, Sengun initially appeared locked into the game and keeping a relatively low profile before Antetokounmpo approached him for a brief conversation during the intermission.

The exchange was short but intriguing. It highlighted the growing fraternity among the NBA’s elite international players. Giannis, of course, has been heavily involved in the EuroLeague Final Four festivities in his home country throughout the weekend. He has also sparked headlines recently by openly discussing his desire to someday play in the EuroLeague before retiring.

Meanwhile, Sengun arrived in Athens fresh off a breakout campaign with the Rockets. Their season ended earlier this month after a first-round playoff loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Despite Milwaukee’s turbulent 2025-26 season, Antetokounmpo remained dominant statistically. He averaged 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists while carrying a reshaped Bucks roster.

As for Sengun, he secured his second consecutive NBA All-Star selection (replacing Shai Gilgeous-Alexander). Sengun had well-rounded averages of 20.4 points, 8.9 rebounds, and a career-high 6.2 assists per game. The 23-year-old center has firmly established himself as one of the league’s premier young international stars.
