Browns knew exactly what they were getting when they drafted Shedeur Sanders and Prime Time
The Cleveland Browns have to be getting tired of all the chatter from Deion Sanders
But it’s impossible to feel sorry for the Browns when they knew exactly what they were signing up for.

Deion doesn’t hold back on Browns criticism
With training camp and a quarterback battle looming for Cleveland, the father of a potential starting QB is in the news again.
Of course, ‘Prime Time’ Deion took up for Shedeur Sanders, who went 3-4 as a rookie starter last year while putting up some of the worst numbers in the league.
“I would have wanted him to perform a little better, but that’s not just an individual thing, that’s a team thing,” Sanders told Covers.
“A quarterback needs help tremendously from the offensive line, from the receivers, from the running game, from the coordinators, as well.
“It’s not just a singular thing, like a defensive back. I don’t care what the pass rush is, (the DB) has got to do his job. It’s a little different with a quarterback. He needs several things to go right for him to be successful.”
Coach Prime effectively threw the Browns’ players and the entire organization under a rolling bus with those comments, ignoring that Shedeur threw more interceptions (10) than touchdowns (seven), only completed 56.6 percent of his passes and posted an 18.9 QB rating that ranked near the bottom of the NFL.
Throw in that Deion previously said he wanted to meet with new Browns head coach Todd Monken, and Cleveland has allowed someone who isn’t on the franchise payroll to try and directly influence a starting QB decision that will directly affect everyone on the roster, the coaching staff and the front office.
Yet nothing about this is shocking, since all the Browns had to do was look at Neon Deion’s playing and coaching careers to understand what they’d be dealing with.
It’s always Prime Time for Deion
A Pro Football Hall of Famer filled with pride and swagger.
A super-talented former two-sport athlete who holds a 16-21 record coaching the Colorado Buffaloes, and constantly inserts himself into Browns drama.

“I want to meet him (Monken) because I think it’s vital that as a coach, not the dad, I can tell him a few things about (Shedeur), how to get him going,” Deion previously said.
Yet Watson – for all his past off-the-field problems – has the edge heading into camp and is favored to lead a team with a rookie head coach coming off a 5-12 season.
Some NFL teams avoided Shedeur in the draft because they didn’t want to deal with all of the accompanying drama.
Can Browns handle the Shedeur drama?
The noise has only increased in recent months, and now Deion is publicly blaming Browns players for his son’s rookie struggles.
It’s going to be a fascinating season in Cleveland, especially after Myles Garrett – by far the Browns’ best player – was traded to the Los Angeles Rams.
Deion and Shedeur might both get their wish, with the second-year QB eventually becoming the Browns’ 2026 starter.
But there’ll be nothing shocking about Shedeur being the leader of one of the NFL’s most dysfunctional teams.
