Donovan Mitchell marries Coco Jones

Donovan Mitchell is entering the 2026-2027 NBA season as a married man.

The Cleveland Cavaliers star tied the knot with Grammy-winning R&B singer Coco Jones on Saturday, according to videos circulating online. In one video, the couple is seen swaying to “Love” by Musiq Soulchild.

In another video, Philadelphia 76ers’ Jaylen Brown is seen filming New York Knicks’ Jalen Brunson from across the dance floor.

The newlyweds were seen in a video taken by a wedding guest, to the couple singing “When I See You.”

Besides the videos from guests surfacing online, there is not much known about the ceremony or what additional athletes were invited to the wedding.

Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones’ relationship

Mitchell and Jones’ began dating in 2023 and prior to the Cavs star getting down on one knee, he sent her a DM on Instagram that she didn’t see.

“He had known of me years before [we met] because ‘Bel-Air’ had done a collab with his shoe line, so he’d kind of seen the show before it came out, and he was like, ‘Who that?’ And he said he hit me up on Instagram,” Coco recalled to Complex. “I ain’t see it though.”

Jones shared that his DM contained “something with a red heart” and that it worked out for her not to see the message because it wouldn’t have worked on her.

“I’m like, ‘Oh, good, that wouldn’t have worked anyway. I don’t want no heart, I don’t know you,’” Coco said, adding that it was meant for them to meet when they did at the celebrity event and not over DM.

“That’s how you know it’s above us. It’s God,” she said. “We’re meant to be.”

Last year during the Cavs’ media day, Mitchell praised Jones on her work ethic after accompanying her on her “Why Not More Tour?”

“She’s a special human,” he continued. “And you see it in her work, and to be able to call her my fiancée, my wife, is a blessing. So, I’m grateful.”

In July 2025, the couple announced that they were getting engaged after two years of dating.
