76ers’ LeBron James channels The Odyssey for inspirational post
LeBron James turned The Odyssey into more than movie promotion on Wednesday. The Philadelphia 76ers star used Christopher Nolan’s Greek epic to share a message about patience, growth and leadership with his Instagram followers.
James reposted a card from the account 5am.secrets titled, “The Long Way Often Builds The Right Person.”
“The journey home took twenty years,” the message read. “The real reward wasn’t reaching Ithaca. It was becoming the man capable of leading it.”
James also added Tom Dabrowski’s music from The Odyssey trailer, making the connection to Nolan’s film unmistakable. The post framed a long journey as an opportunity for personal transformation, rather than an obstacle standing between someone and their destination.
LeBron James Previously Promoted The Odyssey With Bronny
This marked another public connection between James and Nolan’s blockbuster.
In April, James and Bronny James joined forces for a promotional video ahead of the movie’s release, per FictionHorizon. The elder James shared the clip alongside a message that leaned into the project’s themes of legacy and mythology.

“It was never a myth. It’s a LEGACY!
A film by Christopher Nolan, The Odyssey is in theaters 7-17-26 @odysseymovie,” James wrote.
That campaign launched as the NBA postseason began, placing the film in front of basketball audiences during one of the sport’s busiest periods.
Nolan’s epic has since collected $727.9 million worldwide after only 12 days in theaters. Domestic audiences account for $320.5 million, while overseas markets have supplied another $407.4 million.
The Odyssey now ranks fourth among 2026 releases globally. Only Toy Story 5, The Super Mario Galaxy Movie and Michael have earned more this year, with each crossing $1 billion.
