India stars Shafali Verma and Yashasvi Jaiswal could land themselves in hot water after the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) issued notices to both players for whereabouts failures related to their respective doping test obligations. As part of the Registered Testing Pool (RTP) under NADA, both players had to provide their location details and a daily one-hour window for testing.

According to reports, however, both players were unavailable at the time they gave to NADA. Shafali was absent when the Dope Control Officers (DCOs) arrived to collect the samples on November 7, 2025, while Jaiswal was not available a month later on December 17.

NADA questioned both players regarding their unavailability in February 2026, but once again received no response from either of the players, giving them no option but to record a "missed test" for both Indian cricketers.

It is worth mentioning that both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the International Cricket Council (ICC) have been informed about the aforementioned missed tests, with Shafali and Jaiswal now having a seven-day window to explain why they remained absent.

"Notices have been issued to the concerned athletes, and the same has been intimated to the national federation (the BCCI) and the ICC," a source was quoted as saying to the Press via NDTV.

"Yes, we have received notification from NADA on missed tests. We will check with them as to how it happened, and will take necessary steps so that such things do not happen in future. Cricket is back in the Olympics and we need to adhere to all the protocols so that everything goes on smoothly," a BCCI spokesperson was quoted as saying to the Press via NDTV.

It is, however, worth mentioning that this was the first “whereabouts failure” offence for both Shafali and Jaiswal. Should they record three of these in 12 months, they could land themselves in serious trouble, which could include a two-year ban from cricket.
