The news carries mixed emotions for the Yankees. Dominguez finished his rehab assignment and homered on Friday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, suggesting his timing was returning.

The power display suggested the 23-year-old outfielder was ready after missing more than a month. He had been sidelined since a May 7 collision near the left-field wall.

Still, Grisham’s injury dampens the excitement. He hurt his hamstring Friday while advancing to second base on a two-run single and had been one of New York’s hottest bats.

The 29-year-old center fielder entered the injury with a .370 average across his previous 19 games. The absence of Grisham will additionally test an outfield already missing Judge.
