Yankees offense makes insane franchise history in drubbing of Royals

When it comes to baseball history, the New York Yankees wrote the book. They won 27 World Series titles, the most of any MLB franchise, and produced the best of the best. However, there was one bit of history that hadn’t been made until Tuesday.

In their 15-1 win over the Kansas City Royals, the Yankees had all nine starters get at least 2+ hits, per Talkin’ Yanks. Third baseman Amed Rosario led the way, going 4-for-6 with two home runs and four RBIs. CF Trent Grisham and DH Ben Rice each came away with three hits, with Grisham hitting a home run.

Aaron Judge batted 2-for-3 with an RBI and two walks. In the process, Judge achieved the most home runs in 1,200 games played with 385. Jazz Chisholm Jr. went 2-for-5 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored. Cody Bellinger was 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs.

This performance comes during a period of history-making for the Bronx Bombers. Cam Schittler is coming on the heels of achieving the lowest ERA in the first 25 starts for a pitcher in Yankees history at 2.27. On Tuesday, he started and pitched six innings, striking out six. Meanwhile, Judge is fresh off being the only player in franchise history to hit multiple walk-off home runs to break a 0-0 tie. It came last Sunday in a 2-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays.

The Yankees are now 33-22 and have split their last ten games. They are three games behind the Rays in the American League East.
