Yankees’ Jazz Chisholm Jr frustrated with anemic offense, ejected from Red Sox finale

New York star Jazz Chisholm obtained an ejection after arguing with officials during the sixth inning of the Yankees’ clash with the Boston Red Sox on Sunday night.

Chisholm was arguing with the umpire about a checked-swing call that resulted in a strikeout to end the sixth inning. Home plate ump Adam Hamari elected not to appeal to third. He ruled that the infielder had offered at a Sonny Gray curveball in the dirt, leading to him turning and getting into his face.

Aaron Boone quickly came racing out of the third base dugout in an effort to intercept his leadoff man, but Chisholm spiked his helmet as the manager spoke to Hamari, leading to his ejection.

Anthony Volpe entered the game to replace him in the leadoff spot. Chisholm ended his time in the game after having a tough night against the Red Sox’s ace Sonny Gray. Before the ejection, he went 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts, showing how his impact was absent.

How Jazz Chisholm, Yankees played against Red Sox

The Yankees tried to pull off a remarkable rally despite Jazz Chisholm’s ejection from the game. However, their efforts fell short in the 5-4 loss to the Red Sox in the series finale.

Boston led 2-0 after scoring the pair of runs in the fourth inning, maintaining it until the ninth frame. New York tied the game to force extra innings, scoring another pair of runs to lead 4-2. However, the hosts fired back with three more runs to dispatch their long-time rival.
