WWE’s Cody Rhodes ruthlessly trolls Pat McAfee before WrestleMania

In a few days, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will come face-to-face with Pat McAfee at WrestleMania, and he trolled the former NFL punter before the Showcase of the Immortals.

Rhodes has been traveling during WrestleMania week, doing various media appearances. He posted a video of himself boarding a jet, presumably to go to Las Vegas, with McAfee’s WWE entrance theme, “The Anomaly,” playing over it.

It didn’t end there, either. Rhodes’ next post showed the outside of Lucas Oil Stadium. Of course, McAfee spent his entire eight-year career in the NFL with the Indianapolis Colts, who play their home games at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Cody Rhodes and Pat McAfee’s feud going into WWE WrestleMania 42

While Rhodes and McAfee don’t have a match scheduled, they will likely be face-to-face at WrestleMania 42. McAfee is set to accompany Rhodes’ opponent, Randy Orton, to the ring on Saturday, Apr. 18. They will also probably have one more interaction before WrestleMania 42 begins on Friday Night SmackDown on Apr. 17.

McAfee recently made his return to WWE after a long hiatus, aligning himself with Orton. He revealed himself as the mystery man on the other end of Orton’s recent phone calls.

Now, he will be walking Orton to the ring at WrestleMania 42. McAfee added a stipulation that if Orton loses to Rhodes at the show, he will leave the professional wrestling industry forever.

This is the second year in a row that Rhodes’ WrestleMania match is bound to feature celebrity interference. Last year, he lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to John Cena after Travis Scott got involved in the match. There is a chance that happens again with McAfee in 2026.

Rhodes is in the midst of his third reign as Undisputed WWE Champion after beating Drew McIntyre to regain it during the Mar. 6, 2026, edition of SmackDown.
