WWE’s AJ Lee seemingly indicates she’s done in kayfabe-shattering post with Becky Lynch

While they were heated on-screen rivals, WWE’s AJ Lee and Becky Lynch may not hate each other after all, as the former Divas Champion revealed in a post that indicated her current run after her 2025 return is over.

Lee posted a carousel of images from her “past eight months.” She thanked Lynch, calling her by her real name, Rebecca, saying, “Thank you for keeping me safe and making me better.”

The two are smiling in the first slide of the post. This is somewhat surprising, since the two never embraced on-screen within the WWE world.

During the Sep. 5, 2025, edition of Friday Night SmackDown, Lee made her shocking return to WWE a decade after she left. She then teamed up with her husband, CM Punk, to defeat another husband-wife duo of Seth Rollins and Lynch.

This launched her feud with Lynch, which would continue until WrestleMania 42 on Apr. 18. Lee competed in the Women’s WarGames match in November, forcing Lynch to tap out again to pick up the win for her team.

A few months later, at the Elimination Chamber PLE in February 2026, Lee defeated Lynch again to win the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. She successfully defended the title against Bayley, her only singles match that wasn’t against Lynch during this run, and then lost the championship back to Lynch at WrestleMania 42.

Is AJ Lee done in WWE after her 2025 return?

It’s unknown what the future holds for Lee. While the post seemingly indicated that her current run is over, she concluded the post by promising her fans, “Stay weird, see you soon.”

However, that could mean anything. Lee could be getting ready to embark on a new venture that would bring her together with her fans. WWE fans will likely hope that means she will be back in the company in the near future.

At 39 years old, it was unlikely that Lee was ever going to return to WWE for the long haul. Her last stint was huge for Lynch, solidifying her legacy even further.
