WWE star Ludwig Kaiser allowed to travel internationally despite arrest in Florida

Rising WWE Superstar Ludwig Kaiser, aka Marcel Barthel, was recently arrested in Florida. Kaiser, also known as El Grande Americano across both WWE and Mexican wrestling promotion AAA, found himself arrested on battery charges in Orange County, Florida.

According to reports, Barthel was arrested yesterday on May 20, 2026, on charges of battery in Orange County, Florida. According to online records, he was booked in Orange County, Florida, on May. 20, 2026, at 2:37 PM. Later, PWInsider confirmed through their report that Barthel was bonded out of Orange County Corrections on a $1000 bail.

Later, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful and trusted media personality Raj Giri also shared more reports on Kaiser’s arrest and the potential act that led to it. While previously speculated to be domestic battery charges, the rumors were dismissed by Sean Ross Sapp, while Giri recalled an incident that shed a positive light on Kaiser.

Shortly after the arrest, Kaiser’s lawyers had requested a plea to travel internationally for his upcoming mask vs. mask against El Grande Americano in Mexico. Now, recent court records show that the state did not object to the motion and granted him his request to travel.

“Since the initial filing of the Motion to Travel, undersigned counsel communicated with Assistant State Attorney Shaylynne Kotch, who indicated no objection to this motion. WHEREFORE, for the foregoing reasons, the Defendant respectfully requests this Honorable Court to enter an Order allowing him to travel out of the State of Florida and internationally,” the court recordings read.

Also, as per the records available online, it was revealed that Barthel’s close friend, Gunther aka Walter Hahn, helped him with the $1000 posted bail and acted as the depositor.
