The final four spots in the quarter finals are up for grabs in the World Matchplay tonight, with eight players looking to join the likes of Luke Littler and Gary Anderson in the final eight.
Four very evenly matched games take place at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool tonight, kicking off with Cameron Menzies, who notably knocked out world number two Luke Humphries in the first round, up against Ross Smith, who also upset the odds to get the better of Kevin Doets on Monday night.
The second match of the night sees an all-Dutch affair as Wessel Nijman, the less known of the two but currently the second favourite to win the trophy after a barnstorming year on the European Tour and in the Players Championships, comes up against World Championship runner up Gian van Veen.
Gerwyn Price, the former world champion looking to put his name on the World Matchplay trophy for the first time in his career, is up in the primetime slot tonight as he takes on Rob Cross in the third match of the night.
Two Englishmen round off the night with James Wade and Ryan Searle battling for the final place in the quarter finals, with the all-English tie taking on the winners of the all-Dutch match in the last eight.
