World cup news: Cristiano Ronaldo begins training for Portugal

With just days left for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, all the participating nations have now geared up. With Neymar joining the Brazil World Cup training camp despite his injury, fans have now also witnessed Cristiano Ronaldo join Portugal’s camp.

Just recently recovered from an injury while playing for Al-Nassr, Ronaldo recovered and came back to win the trophy with his side. He was now seen leading Portugal’s national team training camp with a winning mentality.

After capturing his first title in the Middle East with Al Nassr, Ronaldo is not in the mood to slow down. “CR7” is now focused on winning his first World Cup trophy with Portugal to further cement his legacy in football history. He has now officially reunited with the Portuguese squad as the countdown to the World Cup begins. As the team captain, he led the group’s opening run to kick off the national team training camp.

In the videos shared on Portugal’s official social channels, as well as the clips going viral on the internet, Ronaldo could be seen jogging around the pitch or posing with his teammates on the field. Despite having one of the most glorious soccer careers in the world, Ronaldo has yet to win his first-ever FIFA World Cup. Ronaldo’s last International trophy dates back to the 2024 UEFA Nations League win over Spain.

While Ronaldo’s arch-rival Lionel Messi won the 2022 FIFA World Cup, will the 41-year-old be able to lift this year’s trophy with the Portugal national team?
