Left-arm spinner Kirstie Gordon makes her return as Scotland has announced their squad for the 2026 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in England and Wales in June.

Gordon has made 60 appearances for Scotland from 2012 to 2017, before making a switch to England in 2018. Her last appearance for the Lionesses came in 2019 in the one-off Test against Australia in the Ashes.

“It was hugely difficult to select a fifteen, but that’s testament to the growth and success of the women's game in Scotland over the last few years. The depth we have now to choose from is incredible and every selection is enjoyable, but really tough. I think we’ve got a really good balance in the squad in terms of what we think we need to succeed in this tournament,” Craig Wallace, Scotland Women’s Head Coach, said in an official statement.

Gordon assured the commitment to her future with Scotland in December 2025. She has made all five of her T20I appearances for England in the 2018 T20 World Cup, with best figures of 3/16 coming against Bangladesh.

“Kirstie’s decision to come back home and choose to play for Scotland again shows just how far the team have progressed to, and it’s great for our players to have the chance to play with one of the best in the world,” Wallace added.

Fast-bowling all-rounder Kathryn Bryce captains the 15-member squad. She plays alongside Gordon for the Blaze in the English domestic circuit.

Scotland have been drawn against England, Ireland, West Indies, New Zealand and Sri Lanka in Group B. They start their campaign on June 13 against Ireland at Old Trafford.

This will be Scotland’s second appearance in the T20 World Cup, after making their competition debut in the 2024 edition in the UAE.
