Wings player posts eye-popping stat line for first 2026 WNBA trip-dub
The Dallas Wings opened their three-game road trip with a 99-89 win over the Chicago Sky on Wednesday night at Wintrust Arena, improving to 3-2 on the season and carrying their momentum forward after Monday’s win against the Washington Mystics. Dallas earned its second straight victory on the back of a historic performance from Jessica Shepard, who recorded the first triple-double in the WNBA this season.
Shepard finished with 18 points, 10 rebounds and a career-high 12 assists while shooting 6-for-7 from the field and 6-for-9 at the free-throw line in 31 minutes. She also committed only one turnover. The performance was the second triple-double of her career, having first done so with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists against the Indiana Fever on Aug. 22, 2025. Shepard secured the final rebound on a missed Rachel Banham 3-pointer in the closing seconds.
The veteran forward became the fourth Wings player to post a triple-double and also joined Arike Ogunbowale, Skylar Diggins and Ivory Latta as the only players in franchise history to record 12 assists in a game.
Paige Bueckers matched the game high with 24 points on 11-of-19 shooting, while Ogunbowale contributed a season-high 23 points and five assists. Ogunbowale scored 11 points in the fourth quarter and buried consecutive late 3-pointers after the Sky cut the deficit to three points with 2:32 remaining. Her first assist of the night also gave her 900 for her career, making her the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 4,500 points, 900 assists and 300 steals, accomplishing the feat in 229 games.
Rookie Azzi Fudd continued her productive stretch off the bench with 12 points for the second consecutive game. She shot 4-for-6 from the floor and 2-for-2 from 3-point range.
Dallas shot 50% from the field and 42.9% from deep while winning the rebounding battle 36-30. The Wings also held advantages in second-chance points and bench scoring. Dallas took control in the third quarter, outscoring Chicago 34-26 while shooting 68.8% from the floor during the period.
Kamilla Cardoso led the Sky with 24 points on 10-of-14 shooting along with 11 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. Natasha Cloud added 21 points and eight rebounds, while Diggins scored 15 points.
Up next, the Wings will visit the Atlanta Dream on Friday.
