Will Mets’ Juan Soto return to outfield soon amid forearm injury?

The New York Mets have been dealing with injuries this season that have forced them to start slow, and the hope is that they can get back on track soon. Juan Soto has had forearm tightness, and there is a chance that he could go back to the outfield, according to ESPN’s Jorge Castillo.

“Juan Soto could return to playing the outfield this weekend in Anaheim, Carlos Mendoza said. Soto was initially limited to DH coming off a calf strain last week before dealing with forearm tightness,” Castillo wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

This is good news for the Mets as they’re able to get Soto back to where he thrives best, and with them not playing the best this season, it’s important that they have all hands on deck.

The Mets are without Luis Robert Jr. and Francisco Lindor right now, as they have injuries as well. Robert is dealing with lower back tightness and is being placed on the injured list. It’s uncertain how long he will be sidelined, but the hope is that it isn’t for too long.

As for Lindor, he’s been out with a calf injury, and while there’s no clear timetable for his return, it seems as if he could return in about a month, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

“The Mets have not provided a timetable for Francisco Lindor’s calf strain, but are privately expecting him to be out until weeks into June,” Nightengale wrote.

As of now, the Mets will just have to stay afloat amongst all the injuries.
