Wilfried Nancy tipped for immediate return in wild exchange with Premier League owner
Wilfried Nancy hilariously found himself tipped to become the next Burnley manager, thanks to US sports presenter Pat McAfee.
The recently-axed Celtic boss had his nightmare spell in Glasgow brought to an end on Monday, as he was dismissed after just 33 days in charge.

Nancy was sent packing two days after a 3-1 Old Firm defeat to Rangers, which was his sixth loss in eight games in charge.
His 33-day tenure was the shortest managerial stint in the club’s history, with Martin O’Neill since returning as interim boss.
Having arrived from MLS outfit Columbus Crew with a reputation as one of the league’s most successful managers, Nancy’s ill-fated spell at Celtic Park saw his image take a knock.
But news of the Frenchman’s sacking doesn’t appear to have reached everyone across the pond, as popular US sports presenter McAfee recently showed.
McAfee’s howler
In the latest episode of ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ on Wednesday, the ESPN host welcomed NFL legend and minority Burnley investor J.J Watt.
Discussing the struggling Clarets’ form, McAfee suggested it may be time for Watt to consider replacing current head coach Scott Parker.
Parker has found himself under pressure this term, with his side 19th in the Premier League table and eight points adrift of safety.
And McAfee thought he had found the perfect candidate for Watt, as he hilarious suggested Nancy would be the right man for the job.
Referencing Burnley’s record of three wins and three draws in 19 league games, he began: “I did learn of Burnley’s record, okay? I didn’t like it. We’re going to fix it though.”
Then came the huge gaffe, as McAfee continued: “If you are thinking about a new coach though, I’ve got a guy.

“He was the Columbus Crew coach, then he goes over to Scotland to coach Sheltic [Celtic], is this not accurate?”
Clearly unaware of recent events, McAfee turned to producer Gump Cathcart: “We’ve got an MLS coach that got called over to go and coach elsewhere, and what happens?”
It was only then that the presenter was informed of Nancy’s disastrous spell in Scotland by his colleague.
Filling him in, Cathcart said: “He’s the MLS coach of the year, he goes to Celtic, after 33 days he gets canned – loses six out of eight matches. He is now unemployed.”
‘That was the sell?’
The brutal reality check left McAfee red-faced, who immediately turned away looking shocking
Meanwhile, one of his panellists members quickly poked fun at his huge blunder, chiming in: “That was the sell?”

But McAfee soon hit back, as he jokingly claimed there was little difference between Nancy’s horror stint, and the results picked up by Parker’s Burnley.
The analyst shouted: “He won two out of eight? They (Burnley) have three wins, three draws and 14 losses!”
One of the other panel members continued to taunt McAfee, adding: “I was expecting something wildly different when I heard that over there and thought ‘oh we’ve maybe got a guy for Burnley’.
One man who didn’t appear amused was Watt, who remained straight-faced while the panel excitedly compared Nancy and Parker.
Meanwhile, McAfee managed to see the funny side of his gaffe, later taking social media to poke fun at it.
He shared footage of the exchange on X, and wrote: “We’re just trying to help Burnley JJ Watt,” followed by two laughing emojis.
