Bickerstaff framed the performance as a reflection of Cunningham’s character rather than a surprise. The coach pointed to Cunningham’s leadership, preparation, and awareness of the stakes as reasons Detroit trusted him in the biggest moments.

The 24-year-old superstar also came through late, hitting a step-back dagger in the final minute to help seal the win. The shot capped his record-setting night and ensured Detroit avoided elimination.
