Why Braves-White Sox game was postponed on Thursday
The Chicago White Sox already secured one of their biggest accomplishments in the last five years during their home series against the Atlanta Braves, as they took the first two games and seized sole possession of first place in the American League Central. The South Siders wanted the sweep, however, and will now have to wait a couple of months for the chance to clinch it. Thursday’s game in Rate Field has been postponed due to rain, the team announced.
The series finale will be made up on Aug. 20 at 1:10 p.m. CT. Tickets, prepaid parking passes and Stadium Club passes that were purchased for June 11 will be accepted on the rescheduled date. Still, fans were itching to see the White Sox inflict more punishment on the team that currently owns MLB’s best record.
