Which team selected UCLA’s Lauren Betts at 2026 WNBA Draft
UCLA women’s basketball star Lauren Betts was selected No. 4 overall by the Washington Mystics in the 2026 WNBA Draft on
Betts was part of a strong early run on frontcourt talent, following TCU’s Olivia Miles at No. 2 to the Minnesota Lynx and Spain’s Awa Fam Thiam at No. 3 to the Seattle Storm. The Mystics’ selection made Betts the first UCLA player taken in the draft, with her teammates Gabriela Jaquez going one pick later at No. 5 to the Chicago Sky and Kiki Rice drafted No. 6 by the Toronto Tempo (Rice was the Tempo’s first-ever WNBA Draft pick).
Betts will be joined in Washington by another UCLA teammate, Angela Dugalić, who was drafted No. 9.

Betts helped lead the Bruins to their first NCAA-era championship win vs. South Carolina April 5. Betts enters the WNBA after a standout college career at UCLA and is expected to add size and interior presence to the Mystics’ frontcourt as the franchise continues its roster build.
The 2026 draft featured 15 invited prospects in attendance.
Betts now joins a Washington organization that recently added other ties to UCLA’s championship program. Former Bruins standout Michaela Onyenwere, who helped Cori Close’s coaching staff during UCLA’s NCAA title run earlier this month, agreed on Monday to a $1.4 million multi-year deal with the Mystics.
Onyenwere, the 2021 WNBA Rookie of the Year, previously played for the New York Liberty, Phoenix Mercury and Chicago Sky. UCLA announced in September that she would return to her alma mater as an assistant coach for the 2025-26 season. Her last appearance in the W came with the Sky during the 2025 season.
