What time is England v Norway? Kick-off for quarter-final tie amid possible delays again

England face Norway for the first time at a major tournament tonight in the quarter-finals of 2026 World Cup.

The Three Lions confirmed their spot in the next round with a thrilling 3-2 victory over co-hosts Mexico at the Azteca Stadium last weekend.

England won thanks to Jude Bellingham‘s brace and a Harry Kane penalty, despite Jarell Quansah being sent off in the 54th minute.

Thomas Tuchel‘s side have been heavily praised after overcoming a tricky combination of thunderstorms, altitude, and Mexico’s incredible home record.

Norway advanced as Erling Haaland scored a double against tournament heavyweights Brazil, to kick them out of the competition.

The fixture marks a third successive quarter-final appearance for the Three Lions, while an in-form Norway have made history by reaching the final eight of a World Cup for the first time.

What time is England v Norway?

The quarter-final will take place on Saturday, July 11 and is scheduled for 10pm BST (5pm local time).

It will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida, home of the NFL‘s Miami Dolphins.

England v Mexico was delayed due to bad weather and FIFA have confirmed there is a ‘low risk’ of thunderstorms in Miami again.

Regardless of electrical weather, England will have to deal with extreme heat tonight.

Temperatures of 33C are expected at kick-off and the high humidity means a real feel of up to 43C.

What is the team news?

England were handed a triple boost ahead of the game.

Marc Guehi, Declan Rice and Reece James all took part in full training on Friday.

Guehi and Rice were absent on Thursday, due to a hamstring issue and illness respectively, while James returned but did not complete the entire session as planned.

The right-back has missed the last three matches through injury, but completed a full training session on the eve of the Norway clash, alongside Guehi and Rice.

It means England could have everyone available besides Jordan Henderson (injury) and Jarell Quansah (suspended).

What has been said?

While Norway have been exceptional throughout the tournament, it’s Haaland who has stolen the headlines on the world’s biggest stage with seven goals in four games.

Throughout his international career, the 25-year-old has scored 62 goals in 54 senior matches, with only six of those being penalties.

After the Scandinavians eliminated the five-time champions, Haaland said: “This is just an insane day, it is one of the most incredible days in Norwegian history.”

He added: “I never thought I would experience something like this. It’s surreal to compete against the best players in the world at a World Cup.

“Just being here is special. But scoring seven goals for Norway at a World Cup is something else entirely. It feels unreal.

“I can’t find the words to describe how I feel. Sometimes I have to pinch myself to realise just how big this all really is.”

Haaland was born in England and was eligible to be a Three Lion but he chose to represent Norway.

The Man City star was previously asked whether he felt English, which he replied: “Yeah! When I signed for City, I said I feel a bit home. I feel a bit at home now I’m living in UK and everything.

“My parents had a great time here before I was born and when I was born, and I’m having a great time now.”
