Wednesday horse racing tips
NEWMARKET
- 2.25: Wareeth 11/4 (1pt)
- 3.00: Boiling Point 11/4 (1pt)
- 3.35: Inis Mor 11/2 each-way (1pt)
HAYDOCK
- 2.05: White Noise 4/5 (NAP – 2pts)
Wareeth
The first tip for today comes from the Craven Meeting at Newmarket in the 2.25pm Feilden Stakes.
It’s not been won by Charlie Appleby since 2021 and that was his only win. Similarly, Aidan O’Brien has yet to win this race where it’s open for numerous trainers in recent years including John Gosden, Roger Varian, and Andrew Balding last year with Almeric.
It’s hard to ignore the potential and progression of Wareeth, trained by Archie Watson who won by an incredible 14 lengths at Newcastle last time out.
Will suit the additional 1f being a Sea The Stars colt ridden by Hollie Doyle in a race that’s set to suit.
Boiling Point
The Earl of Sefton Stakes was won by Richard Hannon last year under Ryan Moore with their horse Persica but previously went to Charlie Appleby three years running with Master Of The Seas and Ottoman Fleet.
Persica looks to retain his title but hasn’t been seen to the same effect during the latter stages of his 2025 campaign.
So much so he was gelded in December but remains of key interest because of that.
Persica, Boiling Point and Damysus have impressed and won over course and distance which is key to winning at Newmarket in general.
They will be the key runners here but Boiling Point has always held that winning quality for trainer Karl Burke.
The five-year-old has won over £200k in prize money in his career and always performs well at Newmarket – solid choice.
Inis Mor
The Nell Gwyn Stakes is always an important one as these fillies often go on to feature in the 1000 Guineas just a few weeks later.
Cachet won both in 2022 and there’s 12 runners this year that look to emulate that kind of ability this year.
America Queen is entered for the Irish 1000 Guineas instead as well as the Newbury Dubai Duty Free Stakes this weekend, but will surely have a month off to prepare – depending how this goes.
The Godolphin chance this year comes from Act Of Kindness who cost a whopping 3,700,000 guineas.
She won on her second time of asking here and will come on a lot from her Autumn campaign.
But Inis Mor has won twice at Newmarket now, even when carrying a 7lb penalty in August to beat Enchanted Queen by nearly two lengths, comfortably.
Went to Longchamp over 1m and placed a valiant second behind Cape Orator on very soft ground and looks a great each-way bet here.
She too has an entry for the 1000 Guineas in May and one for the Oaks at Epsom in June.
White Noise
Jockey Tom Bellamy is in incredible form this season and he gets his regular mount on this impressive mare White Noise.
She’s a clear favourite and she even won at 40/1 at Cheltenham Festival yet has found a race with just a 5lb penalty against some lesser rated mares who could be on the back foot against this talent.
