Watch Timothée Chalamet celebrate NBA title with Jalen Brunson in raucous locker room
Timothée Chalamet had a unique celebration for the New York Knicks’ NBA championship win as he was able to join Jalen Brunson in the locker room with the rest of the team.
The Knicks beat the San Antonio Spurs on Saturday, June 13 94-90 and clinched the first NBA championship title in 53 years for the franchise. The historic win was celebrated by Chalamet, who was present during Game 5 and got the opportunity to celebrate with the Knicks stars.
In a video posted by ESPN, the Oscar-nominated actor was yelling in excitement as he entered the Knicks locker room. As he stood next to Brunson, he excitedly told Captain Clutch, “D–n bro you got a ring bro. That’s all you.”
Chalamet then began chanting “Finals MVP” as Brunson was awarded it after the presentation of the NBA championship trophy.
In another video, Chalamet was seen on the court for Game 5 and told ESPN’s SportsCenter,”Way rather this than the Oscars.”

The Dune star has been supporting the Knicks since he was in high school after being born and raised in Hell’s Kitchen. During the Knicks playoff run, the has been cheering on the team courtside and even made some road games in Cincinnati when they faced the Cleveland Cavaliers as well as Game 1 and Game 5 of the NBA Finals in San Antonio.
According to Chalamet, being a NBA fan is hard work and he even went viral when he shared a photo of himself preparing for the NBA Finals. The Dune actor shared a photo with ice on his legs and a message on his June 4 Instagram Story, writing, “People underestimate the wear and tear on the body for a fan throughout the playoffs. Self care is important.”

The celebration for the Knicks has just begun as the team is ready for their parade on Thursday, June 18 back home in New York City.
