Warriors fans lament Stephen Curry dynasty after Play-In loss to Suns
The Golden State Warriors’ 2025-26 season has come to an end on Friday night after the Phoenix Suns sent them packing in the win or go home contest of the 2026 NBA play-in tournament, 111-96. Stephen Curry, after turning back the clock and torching the Los Angeles Clippers to the tune of 34 points a few nights ago, struggled, scoring just 17 points on 4-16 shooting from the field as the Warriors failed to keep in step with the Suns.
As if it wasn’t over already, it’s become clearer that the Warriors’ time as a contending team is all but over. Jimmy Butler’s injury made that abundantly clear already, but this loss just cements the Dubs as a fallen dynasty.
Curry is 38 years of age, Draymond Green is aging, and the Warriors, after trying to strike a balance with their ballsy two timelines plan, have failed to develop a superstar whom Curry could pass the torch to. Suffice to say, morale for the Warriors fanbase is down, perhaps even at an all-time low, as they come to grips with the fact that the dynasty is well and truly done and dusted.
“Too many injuries to this team this year. Wish Butler was playing … that would have been fun,” X user @GregoryRoot9 wrote.
“Dynasty been done since they parted with the STEPH, KLAY & DRAY rotation. Remember their last Ring? Klay literally came back from Injury, 2nd top Scorer with 419 points in that Run, Steph had 602. But trust the F/O to f**k it up, Ruined Klay career and they own Legacy,” @kingmckenzietv added.
“Damn it feels like the Warriors era is officially done and I’m sad but happy I got to watch all of it in the moment,” @CliffNotez_ furthered.
“Sad to think Steph is pretty much done. The Warriors aren’t set up to give him one more run. Absolute legend though,” @kitfistokesherb expressed.
