USA-Turkey staring lineup announced for final USMNT Group Stage match
The lineups for USA-Turkey are in, and as we predicted, there are a lot of changes. Weston McKennie and Ricardo Pepi are the only two USMNT players who have started a prior 2026 World Cup match. Christian Pulisic is on the bench and, presumably, available to come on as a sub.
The full lineup for USA-Turkey looks like this:
GK: Matt Turner
DEF: Auston Trusty, Miles Robinson, Mark McKenzie, Joe Scally
MID: Weston McKennie (c), Sebastian Berhalter, Gio Reyna, Brenden Aaronson, Tim Weah
ST: Ricardo Pepi
Bench: Tyler Adams, Max Arfsten, Chris Brady, Folarin Balogun, Sergino Dest, Alex Freeman, Matt Freese, Christian Pulisic, Tim Ream, Chris Richards, Antonee Robinson, Malik Tillman, Haji Wright, Alejandro Zendejas
Starting us off to finish strong.

This match is pressure-free for the United States. The team is through to the Knockout Stage in the first-place slot from Group D. The team already knows it will take on Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 1 in the San Francisco stadium.
Still, manager Mauricio Pochettino, who went full American country while prepping for this USA-Turkey match, will want to take home the W and stay undefeated. If the team does win its third World Cup 2026 match in a row, it will be the first time in U.S. soccer history that it has happened.
The USMNT’s best finish at a World Cup was at the very first event in 1930. In that 13-team tournament, the U.S. won its first two Group Stage matches and then went directly to the semifinals, where it lost to Argentina. In recent history, the team’s best result was makign the quarterfinals in 2002.
