Updated WWE WrestleMania 42 ticket sales after Pat McAfee’s 25% off ‘surprise’

It turns out that Pat McAfee’s “massive surprise” on Friday Night SmackDown was a discount on WWE WrestleMania 42 tickets, and updated figures on the event’s sales are here.

Over the last few months, it has been reported that WWE wasn’t enthusiastic about the ticket sales for WrestleMania 42. Less than 40,000 tickets were sold for each night, and that threshold has been hit.

In WrestleTix’s latest update from Friday, Apr. 10, after McAfee’s SmackDown promo, 1,265 tickets were sold for Night 1 of the event. There are 3,850 more tickets still available of the 45,767 that Allegiant Stadium is set up for.

For Night 2, 1,452 more tickets were sold, bringing that night’s total sold to 42,769 tickets. There are still 1,691 single-day tickets available and 1,307 combo tickets available.

WWE WrestleMania 42’s disappointing ticket sales

Surely, these figures are disappointing to WWE officials. While both nights have finally hit the 40,000 threshold, this is less than last year’s total.

WrestleMania 41, which also took place at Allegiant Stadium, had 118,641 fans in attendance across the two nights. 58,538 were at Night 1, and 60,103 were at Night 2.

It’s unclear why tickets haven’t moved as well as in 2025. WWE has tried everything to boost sales, from including celebrities like Jelly Roll and IShowSpeed during the build to the show to bringing John Cena back as the host.

McAfee tried his best during the Apr. 10 edition of SmackDown. He teased a “massive announcement” earlier in the day before revealing that it was a discount courtesy of Ram Trucks. However, this discount was only valid for Night 1 of WrestleMania 42, since that is when Randy Orton will challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Originally, WWE was going to return to New Orleans, Louisiana, for WrestleMania 42. However, it was later decided to move the event back to Las Vegas for the second consecutive year. The two-night extravaganza will begin on Saturday, Apr. 18.
